This is a private tour of 15 days · 14 nights: the vehicle, the driver and the timing are only yours, so you can stop for photos, change hotels or add a night wherever you like. Below you will find the day-by-day itinerary.
Welcome at Marrakech Menara airport and transfer to your riad in the medina. In the evening walk to Jemaa el-Fna square, full of storytellers, musicians and food stalls, and have dinner on a terrace overlooking the Koutoubia minaret.
Drive west across the plains and the argan forest, with a stop at a women's cooperative, to Essaouira. Check in near the medina and walk along the Skala ramparts while the sun sets over the Atlantic.
Drive north along the Atlantic coast: lunch with oysters in the lagoon of Oualidia, then the Portuguese city of El Jadida and its famous underground cistern, before reaching Casablanca for the night.
Drive to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower, the royal mausoleum and the Udayas kasbah, then follow the Atlantic to Asilah, a small fortified town of white houses covered in murals, perfect for a sunset walk on the ramparts.
Morning in Tangier: Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, the Caves of Hercules and the kasbah overlooking the strait. In the afternoon the road climbs into the green Rif to Chefchaouen.
A whole day to enjoy Chefchaouen at its own pace: the painted stairways of the medina, the kasbah museum, local goat cheese and woollen blankets in the small shops, and a short hike to the Spanish Mosque or the Ras el Maa spring for sunset.
Head south to the Roman ruins of Volubilis and their mosaics, then to Meknes, the city of sultan Moulay Ismail, with the Bab Mansour gate and the El Hedim square. Continue to Fes for the night.
With an official local guide, enter Fes el Bali, the largest car-free medina in the world: the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, the Al Quaraouiyine university, the Chouara tanneries seen from the terraces and the artisans' souks of copper, leather and pottery. Free evening.
Cross the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, the 'Switzerland of Morocco', and the cedar forest of Azrou with its Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, descend through the Ziz Valley and its endless palm groves to Merzouga, where camels take you over the dunes to your camp for dinner and a night under the stars.
A whole day around the great dunes by 4x4: visit a nomad family for tea, listen to Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia, see the seasonal lake of Dayet Srji and the palm grove of Merzouga. Optional sandboarding or quad. Climb a dune for sunset and spend another night at the camp.
Wake up early for sunrise over the dunes and ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. Visit the market town of Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, then walk in the Todra Gorge near Tinghir before reaching the Dades Valley and its rock formations for the night.
A gentle day of kasbahs: walk in the Dades Gorges in the morning, stop in the Valley of Roses and explore the palm oasis of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Atlas film studios.
Morning visit of the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou before the crowds, then the drive back over the High Atlas with stops at argan cooperatives and panoramic viewpoints. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
Discover the red city with a licensed guide: the Koutoubia mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Ben Youssef madrasa, then the souks of spices, lanterns and leather. The afternoon is free for the Majorelle Garden or a hammam.
Breakfast at your riad and, depending on your flight time, a last walk in the souks. Private transfer to Marrakech Menara airport. End of our services.
