Meet your camel guide at the edge of the dunes in the afternoon and leave everything behind: a one and a half hour ride deep into Erg Chebbi as the sand turns orange, then dinner, drums and stories around the fire in a quiet camp far from the village.
Climb the highest dune near the camp to watch the sun rise over Algeria, enjoy breakfast in the camp and ride back to Merzouga, where you can shower at the hotel before continuing your journey.
