Alongside your expert local guide, you’ll explore some of Marrakech’s most iconic gems starting with the majestic 12th century Koutoubia Mosque, the exquisite Bahia Palace with its intricate architecture, and the serene Majorelle Garden, a colorful oasis once owned by Yves Saint Laurent.
Then, step back in time as you wander the mazelike streets of the Old Medina, filled with centuries of history and life. The adventure continues through the bustling souks, where the scent of spices lingers in the air and artisans craft treasures before your eyes. Your day culminates in the electrifying Jamaa ElFna Square, a cultural explosion of storytellers, street performers, snake charmers.
On the second day of your Moroccan journey, the real adventure begins as we leave the lively streets of Marrakech around 8:00 AM and head straight for the awe inspiring High Atlas Mountains. Get ready for a drive like no other winding through lush green valleys and scattered Berber villages that seem frozen in time, all the way up to Morocco’s highest mountain pass, the majestic Tizi N'Tichka, soaring at 2,260 meters.
Along the way, we’ll pause for photos that capture panoramic vistas and the earthy charm of remote mountain life. From there, we descend into history with a stop at the legendary Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and cinematic favorite featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. This ancient kasbah was once a vital stronghold on the Salt Road, where traders journeyed with gold, spices, and salt.
Our road then leads us to the cinematic city of Ouarzazate Often called the “Hollywood of Africa”home to grand film studios and desert dreams. As we continue through the land of a thousand kasbahs, the scenery shifts once again into dramatic valleys and scattered Berber towns, before we arrive in the enchanting Dades Valley, where a cozy overnight stay awaits amid canyon beauty and peaceful mountain air.
After a delicious breakfast in the heart of the Dades Valley, your journey continues with more aweinspiring wonders as we drive toward the dramatic Todra Gorge a favorite among rock climbers from around the world. As you wander through this breathtaking canyon, carved into towering orange limestone and lined with lush oases, the sheer beauty of the landscape will take your breath away.
From there, the road leads us deeper into the south, unfolding a tapestry of palm groves, ancient kasbahs, crumbling ruins, and even remnants of dinosaurs, yes, real fossils! We’ll pause for lunch along the way before arriving in Erfoud, famously known as the “city of fossils,” where prehistoric treasures have been transformed into striking art and décor. As the sun begins to dip, you’ll arrive at the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi, where your camel awaits.
Mount your camel and ride across the golden sea of sand toward your desert camp, just in time to catch a magical Sahara sunset and maybe even try sandboarding on the soft dunes. As night falls, a million stars light up the sky while you enjoy a traditional dinner, followed by the rhythmic beats of Berber drums beside the fire a truly unforgettable night under the desert sky.
Rise early today to witness one of the desert’s most magical moments the golden sunrise over the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, a peaceful and awe inspiring scene that captures the soul of the Sahara. After soaking in this unforgettable view, enjoy a hearty breakfast back at your desert camp. Once you’re packed, choose your way out of the dunes either on the back of a camel or in a 4x4 vehicle and begin your scenic journey toward Fes.
Along the way, we’ll pass through the lush Ziz Valley, where we’ll pause to admire sweeping views of palm groves and ancient kasbahs nestled in the landscape. The route continues to Midelt or Zaida for a relaxing lunch break before heading onward to the cedar forests near Azrou or Michlifen, where you’ll have the chance to encounter playful Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
From there, the drive takes you through Ifrane often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” thanks to its European Style architecture, clean streets, and alpine atmosphere. Be sure to spot the famous stone lion statue in Parc la Prairie before we continue our journey. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in the historic city of Fes, ready to unwind and reflect on a day filled with diverse landscapes and authentic Moroccan charm.
Today is all about exploring the soul of Fez—one of the world’s oldest and most captivating spiritual cities. With your local guide, dive into its rich heritage, starting at Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest in the world, and the stunning Bou Inania Madrasa. Stroll through the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), visit artisan neighborhoods, and experience the vibrant souks.
Witness the traditional tanneries, pass through the iconic Bab Boujloud gate, and enjoy a delicious Moroccan lunch in the Medina. End the day with a panoramic view over Fes El Bali before returning to your riad, immersed in history and wonder.
After a hearty breakfast in your Fes riad, get ready for a journey that takes you deep into Morocco’s past and straight into one of its most photogenic towns. First, we head toward the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a fascinating openair museum where crumbling columns, intricate mosaics, and timeless ruins tell the story of a longlost empire.
While it may not be as massive as some Roman sites across the Mediterranean, Volubilis offers a peaceful and intimate window into Morocco’s classical heritage. From there, the road winds through the picturesque Rif Mountains, where rolling green hills and quaint villages line the way. By late afternoon, we arrive in Chefchaouen, famously painted in soothing shades of blue.
This mountain gem is a feast for the senses from its dreamy streets and medina to its artisanal shops bursting with unique local crafts. Whether you're exploring quiet corners or capturing that perfect photo, Chefchaouen promises a magical experience. Settle in for the night and soak up the town’s laidback charm under a blanket of stars.
We’ll start the day early to capture the peaceful, empty streets of Chefchaouen before the town begins to stir. Known as Morocco’s most iconic blue city, Chefchaouen offers a calm and photogenic contrast to the bustle of Fes. Its charming blue-washed walls and relaxed atmosphere have made it a favorite escape for locals and visitors alike, especially during the warm summer months.
From here, we journey through the scenic landscapes to Rabat, Morocco’s capital and former imperial city. Known for its elegant mix of history and modernity, Rabat invites you to explore highlights such as the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower, and the beautifully crafted Mausoleum of Mohammed V. You’ll also catch glimpses of the Royal Palace and enjoy a stroll through the peaceful medina.
Our final stop is Casablanca, the cosmopolitan heart of Morocco. Before concluding your tour, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the world. Perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship, decorated with intricate mosaics and soaring architecture.
